The Monster in My Cellar

I'm sayin' that this is my offering for the September theme we had going here, even though I actually painted this in October, and the creature is actually from a pulp magazine called Tales of Suspense, not Strange Tales.

But whatevs, it was fun to do, especially since I did almost all of it live at You can check out my channel here, if ya wanna.

Awesome. I like the way you painted this one, it has some nice realism going on. Really like how you did the chest/arm are.

The one thing that throws me off is the head, and the mouth in particular. Something about it being in front view and being almost symmetrical with the lighting makes it look flat and disconnects it a bit with the body.

David: Thanks! It was fun to chat with you.

Guido: Dangit, you're right. I didn't catch that. Thanks!
