Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 6:34 PM Forgot, and accidentally posted on the old site/blog. Great to see Mr. Ryman here! I'm a proud owner of one of his acrylics. Hi James! I'm once again crazy inspired by your always-incredible work.
I've been messing with a drawing style this past week. After seeing what's here, I feel I should paint him. Man, what great company I'm in here.

swank pencils :)
errr...or is that pen and ink...
It's not everyday that you see a drawing that can be described as "painterly." Gorgeous work.
Great stuff mike, lovely new work!
man you just blew me away. I agree with moai, this looks like graphite brush strokes, so cool!
Monstrous thanks guys.
Since you're curious: The medium is slightly mixed: 10% marker (Copic warm gray... W1) and graphite: Tombow F and H. I laid down some texture on it in Photoshop as well as tweaked the colors, and added subtle highlights on the metal. Now I want to start painting it. But I have another on the way (should be done tonight).
I love that you describe it as painterly. Huzzah! Made my day. :D
