Allison Theus --
Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 6:16 PM Heyo! My name's Allison Theus and I'm a freelance artist. I recieved a BFA at Carnegie Mellon and went on to get a masters at CMU's Entertainment Technology Center in games industry-related stuff. I've worked for a couple people here and there, on projects ranging from Spectrobes II to Warhammer. Creatures are my passion, so it's an honor to be here with all you guys!
Most of my recent stuff is under NDA, but here are some favs:
Rasknitt's Minions - A Skaven piece done for Warhammer Fantasy's Edge of Night expansion.
An entry for the Splice contest over on DA.
And some personal doodling.

Oh, you can also catch me over on DeviantArt under BeastofOblivion. Thanks for looking!

very cool stuff, i notice your personal pieces and sketches are much more raw and have kind of a keith thompson line work to them, yet your work for freelance is a bit more strongly shaped and chiseled. I think the rawness works a bit more in favor of your style. The cthulu monster is just epic :)
I'm especially liking the hindquarters of the weirdness in 3rd pic down -- the general structure, and also the rendering treatment!
Nautilog's fantastical elements and gripping maw are quite fetching, as well. :)
Man! very cool pics!
I like your pencil drawing!!!
That Hell Hound is bad ass (along with everything else)! Its so great to see the line work as well as the rendered pieces.
Thanks guys!
@Davi - Very true. My sketch/B&W skills are a bit farther along than my finishing/coloring skills - I've been working on ways to bring the latter up to date without losing the feeling of motion or rawness in the former, but I don't think I'm quite there yet.
The colors in the Nautilog work beautifully, and it's such a cool looking creature. I like the way you can see the line work through the paint in the personal pieces
Wonderful to see you here, Allison!
So great to see your work here, I've admired it on DA for a long time now. Hope you'll be posting more. I bought your book a while ago, you have a fantastic sense of design!
Hey Lady! I'm a little late commenting, Welcome to Creature Spot! Awesome update! I love the way you handle muscle structure and your designs are so beautifully elaborate. I've been following your work for some time and it has always been so inspiring to me! Looking forward to more! :)
Welcome Allison! stunning works, I really like the last three creatures, their designs are terrific! The elegance of the nautilog design is really unique.
Allison Allison! :) great to see you here, too, girl! :D hot damn those last three make me squee! The Nautilog's silhouette/color scheme/gesture is perfect :D
