Misfit Monsters Redeemed
Christopher Burdett --
Monday, November 29, 2010 at 12:10 PM I got to update the infamous Dungeons and Dragons monster, the Tojanida, for the Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Misfit Monsters Redeemed recently. The book is finally out and here are the Tojanida pieces I contributed to the project. Always fun to get a chance to update a classic critter and give it my own spin.
Thanks!

That dwarf is S.O.L.
I love your take on the Tojanida! It's a much more believable monster and fiercer because of it. The original look always seemed a little silly and impractical to me. You artist guys at Paizo are my heroes!
I saw these in the book and they looked great, I love the full body design
Great work, great colors on the monster :)
Christopher -- I love this crab thing! It jettisons me back to my creature love roots -- I want a plastic model of this thing! The flippers seem kinda crammed in there, and could use some perspective -- Technically you could argue that they're in an upward peak of the swim cycle, but my eye's won't buy it. Love the multiple eyes and those lovingly sculpted claws and mandible pincers -- Great colours too!
...jawdropping cool. You just told a book sir!
Thanks everybody! Really appreciate the comments and thoughts on these! Glad to hear you all are enjoying them :)
That crab monster is fantastic! I really like the turtle-spider parts of it , they fit together really well.
Tojanida! He's so cute now! :D your carapace texturing makes me ridiculously happy. :D
