Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 7:51 AM It's been a while, crazy busy at work, blah,blah,blah... ;)
I did a series of dinosaur vignettes for a local museum. Here's a few, there's more on my site.
Each one corresponds to a life-sized exhibit model. You can see the models on the museum's site.
BTW - They have similar poses because they all had to fit within a circular design for exhibit signage.

Nice work, Thomas! I particularly like the striking color scheme on the Leptoceratops. How much freedom did you get for designing the color schemes of these animals?
Thanks!
When I started the project only Alberto, Styrac, Stygi, and Parasaur had finished models. I got to design the colors for all the others. The museum had a "color expert" that was cool with what I did and actually encouraged me to go even bolder with the patterns. It was a lot of fun.
Love these, they're great. If I may suggest, some of the poses look slightly stiff, especially on styracosaurus and the one that looks like ankylosaurus but isn't, and there could be more suggestion of weight. Really nice work, though, bet the display looks cool.
Thanks Simon! If you have time, can you elaborate a little on their stiffness? I want them to be as good as they can be before shopping them to other media sources.
