Sibmarantis-Illodode ( The Siberian Tiger, Mantis Shrimp, Mandarin Duck) hybrid. On my personal Facebook profile I asked friends to post animal species. The first 3 individual post would make up the design to a drawing that will be included in my Planet to Planet book: as an original traditional drawing signed and dated. The book and image will be available as a prize for a future contest to be announced much later down the road.

Great creature, elements of all three animals are very clear, but well meshed. It would be a perfect candidate for a Creature of the Week round I have planned for the near future called "Siberian Legacy".

Thanks guys,
Frederick - yea.. a 500 res. scan on my computer ;) because I won't own the original for much longer, at least not have access to it soon...I have produced 2 very high res. back up scans.

Sweet man, you done have one a bit more highress uploaded to your site or something do you?
I'd love to see a bigger size of this one.

Very cool creature, Mike! I love the general rhythms and shapes, and the blinky-pet upper orientation of the eyes gives it this adorability whilst remaining regal, and then you have those nice mandible shelfs. This is one of those rare kitchen-sink creatures that just feels right.
