New Work!

Hey folks! It's been a while since I've been able to post any new work. Here are a few new things (You can click to enlarge them all):

First, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Viborg, Denmark were I taught a class in creature design at The Animation Workshop. You can read a bit about my experience on my blog. Here was the creature I created for the class as a demo of what to think about as you design a creature:

The class was given two body shapes to work with, a cat and a horse. I sketched out two types of horse-like creatures - thinking about the niches they might fill in an ecosystem and using specific horse breeds as reference:

Now that the new year has started, I'd like to do more livetsreams! I was able to take some time earlier this month to sketch out this alien guy online:

This was another sketch I did using pencil, watercolor and photoshop - a technique I've been using with a few different projects lately.

Here's a pointy looking fellow:

Also this last summer, the trailer for the kickstarted film, Dust was released. I had the pleasure of working on the film doing a few creature concepts as well as the concepts for the plant. Here's my concept/orthographic for the Elegant Lady butterly as well as the fisnihed plant concept:

That's it for now! Lots more on the way. Thanks for looking! :)
