For the past couple of years I have been talking with Imagine FX about creating a tutorial for their magazine. Finally, the timing was perfect and gave some insight to how I work using photos with my concept designs.

I've created a Photoshop tutorial for issue #55 of Imagine FX's magazine. Its all about my elusive approach to creating creature designs and utilizing photo elements to complete a finished look. Here is a preview and hope everyone digs,

Here's a bunch of stuff that spans my art skool career, some commissions, to now: in the development of a kiddie adventure book. Unfortunately all the game work I've done through the years is STILL against NDA to show, even though the project's been cancelled. :( boooo

But that's how it goes in the wicky-wild-wild west.

The Idea of this creature is that it Travels the deserts and slowly follows animals(and humans) who look like they are faint of life. The creature attacks only when the prey is weakened to the point where it cannot defend itself.

Each victim it consumes is turned into an acidic sap that it stores into column-like sacs on it's back, which will the Morvanger will explode if every attacked. Desert Tribes sometimes worship the Morvanger's as they believe they are walking graveyards that ferry the dead between worlds. Some of these fanatics will send their elderly out to search for Morvanger's to shepard them to their afterlife.

What I do for work isn't too creature focused, but in spare time I sculpt and creatures are always a favourite subject for that.  I'm sculpting just about all the time and I should post some new stuff as I finish it, but here are some more-or-less recent works!  A mix of regular Super Sculpey and Super Sculpey Firm is what I tend to mostly use.
